Madeline (Johnson) Bollinger, 86, of Woodland Retirement Community, formerly of Dudley, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Woodland Retirement Community.
Born on December 15, 1927 in Six Mile Run, she was the daughter of the late Harry I. and Mina (Gates) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Walter C. Bollinger in Cumberland MD. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1996.
She is survived by the following children, Joyce Kelly of Saxton, Jerry Smith of Robertsdale, Donna Kay Schenck, Walter S. Bollinger, and Gary D. Bollinger all of Dudley, Jacqueline MeNear of Harrisburg, and Lenora Smay of Saxton. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Rutherford, Edna Longnecker, Freda Nicodemus, Geraldine Dick and Gladys Geier along with brothers, Melvin, John, Jack, and Charles Johnson.
She was employed by the Tussey Mt. School District as a custodian until her retirement. She loved to go shopping with her sisters and going out for lunch. She was of the Christian Faith.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top City, at 1 PM with Pastor James Thomas officiating assisted by Pastor James Lynn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
