Sylvia Jean Fessler, 77, of Saxton, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Nason Hospital. Born in Puttstown, PA on August 25, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Ethel (Guthridge) and Melvin Miller but was reared in the home of the late Raymond and Frances Reed. On June 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to George O. Fessler who survives at home. She was a member of the Saxton VFW #4129 and the Saxton Sportsman's. Sylvia loved spending time with her husband and family and was very fond of her kittens. She also enjoyed watching Tiger Woods play golf and was affiliated with the Church of God Tabernacle in Saxton. She most recently worked as a Cook at Open Door Cafe in Saxton, and previously worked at various other jobs. Sylvia is survived by four daughters, Brenda, wife of Walt Cornelius, of Saxton, Terry Snyder and Companion Stan Bleacher, of Saxton, Colleen, wife of Donald Kline, of Dudley, Betty Ann, wife of Phil Kline, of Dudley, two sons John, husband of Lisa Fessler, of Blue Ball, and George Fessler Jr.,at Home; three sisters, Emma Coy, of Saxton, Ruth Wagner, of Mapleton, Rose Lewis of Hesston, two brothers, Richard Miller, of Chambersburg, Clifford Miller, of Kansas, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, A granddaughter, Cindy Macklin of Saxton was reared in the Fessler Home. Also reared with Sylvia were Connie Lang, Huntingdon, Donnie Guthridge, Broad Top City, Holly Reed, Saxton, and Gene Pembrooke and Mervin Haubrick who preceded her in death. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 2, from 10-11 AM at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Funeral Service will be held at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. 5010 Railroad Ave. Broad Top City, PA, at 11 AM on Thursday, July 2nd. Interment will be held at the Dudley Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saxton Vol. Fire Co. Ambulance Division Saxton, PA 16678. Arrangements are under the direction of the Curtis A.
