Janea Marie “Nay Nay” Burns, 21, of Saxton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at her home.
She was born at Bedford Hospital on June 30, 1996, the daughter of Robin Burns of Loysburg and David Burns Sr. of West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers, Thomas Hughes III and wife, Tiffanie, of Six Mile Run; Elijah Burns and companion, Macy, of Martinsburg, and Johnavan Eltman of Loysburg; sisters, Mikayla and Baleigh Kegg, of Saxton; Kayla Singer and Harlee Eltman, of Loysburg; grandmothers, Statia Figard of Burnt Cabins; and Martha Burns of West Virginia; nieces Lille and Laekyn; several aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends, as well as a special mom, Courtney Kegg of Saxton.
She was preceded in death by her unborn baby boy; a sister, Shaunte Burns; and her brother, David Burns Jr.
Janea wanted to live. She had dreams of a future career for herself and her unborn child. She had been clean for so long. Her family meant the world to her. She fought so hard all the way to the end, rehab, medication, and love couldn’t break the chains of her demons. Addiction doesn't discriminate, it will take hold and destroy anyone in its path, including the families and people who love them. Addiction hides in the faces of everyday people. Janea isn’t just another statistic or just another gone too soon, but she had a great heart with a bright future and a gift that the world lost and can never be replaced. So the best way to honor her is for people who read this or knew her to think twice before you judge an addict.
A memorial service will be planned by the family at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. P.O. Box 214, Broad Top City, Pa. 16621 to assist with final expenses.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., 5010 Railroad Ave., Broad Top City, PA. 16621. Online condolences can be made at www.caheathfh.com.
