Ronald C. Lemin, Sr., 84
Ronald Clair Lemin, Sr., 84, formerly of Broad Top City and Ohio, died Monday May 27, 2019, at Homewood in Martinsburg, PA.
Born on February 11, 1935, in Woodvale, PA, the son of Clair and Amy Ellen (Estep) Lemin.  He graduated from Robertsdale H.S. in 1953.  On October 23, 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Alice Kay Howe, and moved to Ohio where they raised their family.  He started his own landscaping business (Ronson’s Landscaping) and worked until late 1990’s when he retired.  After a few years, Ron and Alice moved back to their hometown area and purchased a house in Broad Top City, PA.  He reunited with many of his friends and enjoyed living back on the mountain.  He enjoyed working outside, helped establish the Broad Top City Park and Recreation organization as well as physically helping in the park, and would often volunteer to do handy work around the Broad Top City Area where he was involved in many town and church projects.
He was a star baseball, basketball and football player at Robertsdale HS, and was inducted into the Huntingdon County Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.  The legend of throwing a football over the old Broad Top Hotel is still told by several residents on the mountain.  He loved hunting and traveled to Maine to hunt moose, and harvested his two best deer trophies in his later years near Broad Top, PA.
He was predeceased by his wife Alice in December of 2017.  Ron was a devoted caretaker for Alice Kay while she suffered with pulmonary hypertension for several years.  Surviving are his two sons, Ronald C. Lemin, Jr and wife Catherine, of Bangor, Maine, and David F. Lemin and wife Lilly, of Painesville, Ohio, 3 grandchildren, April Llano (Victor), Katie Graham (Adam), and Elizabeth Lemin, 3 great grandchildren, Serena Llano, Jaden Llano, and Tavian Llano, as well as one sister, Mary Jane Pallotta, Parma, Ohio.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at both Homewood and Southern Care Hospice for the exceptional care and love they provided to Ron and Alice during their stay at Homewood.
A memorial service will be held at the Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood in Martinsburg on Saturday June 15, 2019 at noon with Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating. Friends and family will be received from 11 Am until the time of service.  A graveside committal service will be held at 2 PM at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Broad Top City.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Broad Top City Park and Recreation, P.O. Box 191, Broad Top City, PA. 16621 or to Homewood at Martinsburg, 437 Gilver Dr., Martinsburg, PA. 16662.
