Violet M. “Sally” (Jones) Sheeder, 76, of Waterfall, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Penn Highlands Hospital in DuBois.
Born in Sandy Ridge, Pa. on October 26, 1944, a daughter of the late John Sylvester and Violet Madeline (Ritchey) Jones.
On May 13, 1967 at the Robertsdale Church of God, she was united in marriage to Max Edward Sheeder who survives at their home.
During her life she was primarily a homemaker but had also worked at the Shoe Factory in Martinsburg. She attended the Robertsdale Church of God and the New Grenada Church of God. She enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds and robins, was a very good cook, and dearly loved her family.
Along with her husband, she is survived by daughters, Sherrie Stains wife of Dale of Three Springs, and Heather Cornell, wife of Michael of Bedford, sons, John Sheeder, husband of Cathy of Todd, Max Sheeder Jr. husband of Michele of Three Springs, and Bradley Sheeder, husband of Jessica of Mt. Union. 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a brother Leslie James “Jim” Jones of Wood.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter Jennifer Kania, and a brother John Jones, and a sister-in-law Jeanette Jones.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 10-11 AM at the New Grenada Church of God with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA.
All those in attendance will be asked to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the state of Pennsylvania, and the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
